Waiting and waiting...

A day in my place of voluntary counselling today - sitting there, waiting for four out of my total of five clients to turn up for their appointments. None of them did and none of them rang to cancel and this, unfortunately, is not unusual.
It is, however, frustrating.

I think the key word there Jenny is VOLUNTARY - in other words, the clients get it for free. It is a sad, sad fact that we get this offer of FREE help thrown back in our faces time and time (and time !) again. Each time this happens to me, I ask myself why we are doing this - and each time I come up with less and less reasons. I believe the phrase you are looking for is GGGGRRRRRRRRR !!!! CraigyBaby !

Ring the buggers up and tell em they need counselling about their punctuality and appointment-keeping skills. A bloody good telling off should get em to see sense! ...Now that's my kind of counselling!

Craig, as you said earlier, you and I should take over and run the show. ;)
YP, you can Keith could go into partnership and set up your own kind of counselling. You are both singing from the same hymn sheet!

Yes, I think I'd be on the phone asking where they'd got to as well. Isn't it strange that people don't always value things that don't cost them money? But even people with problems should realise that other people's time is valuable!

That's what I would like to do too, Daphne. Unfortunately it's not allowed.

How disappointing. The chances are that those who didn't turn up are the ones that need it the most. Have a lovely Easter, it's snowing thick and fast in Cambridgeshire.

Thanks Ellee, you too. Enjoy the snow!

Ugh! I know lots of people find councelling daunting but whatever happened to common or garden manners...a quick call to cancel surely would not be too difficult! Ok, apparently it is :o/

Too true, Jane. :(

Plaster board and dust

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
