I have been up since seven, but awake since four - another of those inexplicable nights when I sleep for a few hours and then lie awake for the next few, but maybe, this time, it was the sound of sleigh bells which woke me, unlike some years in the past when I was Santa, which involved trying to grab an hour's sleep in between creeping into the children's bedrooms to deposit their presents when they had finally gone to sleep and responding to the delighted cries when they woke up and discovered that "he's been!"
It was a very narrow window, which resulted in my spending Christmas day feeling sick with tiredness. I have never been able to deal with lack of sleep!
But these days, Christmas day is calmer. Dad is here for the week and Keith insists on cooking Christmas dinner. What a gem he is! Reason given is that he doesn't think I can do it properly but, who cares? I can take the insults if it means I am excused culinary duties.
Younger Daughter will arrive around one o'clock and we will see Elder Daughter and husband on Friday.
AND, just for the moment, IT'S NOT RAINING!!!

ooh very similar indeed - although I know that the current form of cornish does derive from welsh roots (along with other celtic languages and additions) so perhaps not too surprising they are similar.. I have heard it said that cornish is like welsh with a west country accent...lol
Have a good christmas, for once here the sun is shining and the boys and I have been out for a lovely walk and they are now tucking into a rawhide chew each but the ninja cat is less certain about his present of a toy which squeaks.. not a brave kitten at all lol xx
Our dogs are out for the count, Sage, having also been out for a walk. Jake hasn't been too well lately but seems to be on the mend now.
Merry Christmas. We're back home and so stuffed with food we can hardly move!
Have a lovely day.
Keith on cooking duty? I guess that means you have to clear up the tsunami debris when the feast is done. I have also been awake since very early... Most unusual for me. I tend to sleep like a, like a...Yule Log!
And all my grandsons twigged that it was 'Grumpy' underneath the Santa outfit. I suppose that means they're growing up fast.
I'm the cook chez nous, so that side of things is 'just another day'.... I always think of it as cooking a very large chicken.
You too, Helsie!
Clean up the tsunami debris? You know him so well! ;)
You cook all the time. Cro? What a hero! I hope Lady Cro is suitably appreciative. ;)
