So, in an attempt to put him out of his misery, I rang North Wales Police the other day.
"I was just wondering," I said, "whether you know that we have an empty police car in our road which has been there for three weeks and doesn't seem to have moved in that time."
"Ah," said the voice at the other end of the phone, "Well, I don't personally know about it but I'm sure there is someone who does. It's bound to be there for a reason."
He didn't sound too sure, though.
"I'll look into it," he said. "Can I have your name, address and telephone number, please?"
Ooh, I thought, he's going to get back to me and tell me what's going on.
But he didn't.
The car is still there and now there is no way Keith can open it and turn it round as they have all our details.
They probably wouldn't think it was very funny anyway.

Aww. That would have been the best jape ever.
We've done similar things at work, not in such a clever manner though. We've bounced cars out of the way of load out doors and to the other side of the road. I'd loved to have seen the faces of the drivers when they came back to theit car and found them on the other side of the road :)
Don't get me going on the North Welsh Heddlu !! I'd have that car up on bricks overnight.
It's probably the 'company' car of the Chief Constable's daughter and had to be abandoned one night when even she was too drunk to drive it home.
Bitter ? Moi ??
Ian
I think you should ring them again and tell them you want to report an abandoned car or I like the idea of taking the tyres and putting it on bricks. That would make them think twice about leaving it.
Lol...that would drive me nuts with nosiness! ;o)
It's very tempting, Lucid and Rosie but I don't really want to be visiting Keith in Walton jail.;)
Ian, I am now agog to know what has happened between you and N Wales police!!!
That's exactly how I feel, Gemmak. (Maybe I've got too much time on my hands.) ;)
Jenny, I've had to split the URL in two to get it into the comment box.
If it doesn't work, just find my post from May 28th last year called "Wales - Day 5".

Aha! Now I understand, Ian. I'm afraid the chief constable over here is (among other things!) extremely hot on cracking down on speeding. :(
