Something else, a little less exciting but potentially extremely useful, was a gift I received this week of something called 'Spider Stop'. No, it's not a hand grenade guaranteed to annihilate any spider within a 40 mile range, before YP and Ian start hurling insults again. It's a spray which has to be sprayed around doors and windows and anywhere else where you might suspect that the loathsome creatures might force an entry. It needs to be re-sprayed every two to three weeks and I am assured by the blurb on the bottle that its scent will definitely send the message to any arachnid skulking in the immediate vicinity that it is absolutely persona non grata chez Jennyta.
Watch this space for further updates... We could be winning here!

...But why do you think the spiders come in this time of year? They are programmed to survive. Spraying this nasty cancer-inducing stuff around doorways will deprive spiders of their basic arachnoid rights! How about a Jennyta spray to stop you from entering shops and spending all of Keith's hard-earned money!?
"... persona non grata chez Jennyta"?
Sehr gut, meine hübsche Freundin!
Danke, Dale!
YP I can see there's no convincing you. We will just have to agree to differ on this one!
And there was me expecting some DDT spray for spyware!
But spiders come up the plughole don't they?
Okay, so they don't. The ones you find in sinks and baths are males on the prowl. And typically they find themselves in deeper than intended! ;o)
I keep the plug in the bath when it's not in use, SP. They're not getting one over on me!
Please let me know if the spray works. I am at my witts end. The little devils keep creeping in when I'm not looking. Spiders have rights-not in my house they don't!
At last! Someone on my side! The spary is called SpiderStop and is available from Betterware. You spray it every 2 to 3 weeks around doorways, windows, anywhere you think they might be getting in. It has scents in it which spiders don't like so it keeps them out. Not had any since I did it a week ago. But you still have to keep the plug in the bath! ;)
I heard that spray keeps spiders away by attracting the cockroaches that eat them jenny.
Your life would be SO much easier if you could only grow to like spiders. Then you wouldn't have to spend all that time, money and effort on such things as your anti-spider spray. Spiders are really rather cute, honestly. Start with a little one and work up.
Oh all right, I can tell I'm on a loser.
Daphne, nice try but you are indeed on a loser. :)
Arthur, believe it or not, I am quite happy with cockroaches.
