Arachnophobe tip
Replace carpets with laminate or wood flooring. Spiders move more slowly across its smooth surface, making it easier to stamp on them. Either that or the one I killed the other night was in its dotage. I'm just proud of myself for being able to get close enough to do the necessary. A gold star for that, I think!

Or perhaps consider keeping a snake or two. Snakes eat spiders, don't they? Do they? OK then. A bird? Birds eat 'em. They do. You can't rely on Keith, after all. He's only got one good stamping foot.
Keith can't stamp with either of his feet, Dale. Bit of a let-down really. After all, why else does one keep a man in the house but to kill the spiders? ;)
Ah that explains a lot......if your man can't 'put his foot down' now and then.
Back to the spiders and a wooden floor, I had that done a year ago and I seem to see MORE spiders now than when they were hidden in the carpet. They scuttle across at a fair old speed though and it's quite funny to see them try and get a grip on the polished surface.
I just let them get on with it and find their dark place. I'm heavily into symbiosis - although that might just be cause I'm too lazy to get out of my recliner to squish one.
