Lovely, Jenny! But I don't know much about steam engines, I'm afraid. I would enjoy a trip on British Rail, though. I notice a much different arrangement for coupling carriages that what we use here.
I remember some years ago, I met a couple of British rail fans and invited them onto the locomotive for a tour. They were thrilled and took dozens of photos.
You're a good daughter to visit your ol' dad and take him for a train ride. I'll bet he had a fabulous day!

Yes, it was a Polish engine, but one which, according to Dad, was running beautifully.
Mick, the extension has ground to a halt for the moment as the rest of it is being built in some distance factory as we speak well, almost) but work should recommence pretty soon.
