Shed clearing day

Today is 'clearing out the shed' day.
This has probably been brought on because Keith has killed another computer and is awaiting a new power pack for it, so in the meantime, he has the one from upstairs, which means that the corner of the living room and the study are both awash with cables, leads and other detritus. In addition, he has been working on my old laptop (Did I mention that I now have a shiny new red one?) and this has led to another mess all over the dining table.
To add insult to injury, he then announced yesterday that he wanted to get his model aeroplane and helicopter out of the shed, presumably to spread them over the small remaining tidy areas of the house. Surprisingly, when he noticed the expression on my face, he quickly thought better of it.
So, today is 'clearing out the shed' day and 'building a new workbench within' day but it has also turned out to be 'mending the shed roof' day, as the squirrels have been chewing away at the roof felt, with predictable results. It never rains but it pours - in both senses of the phrase.
I did try to help with the clearing out but soon got sent back indoors due to my extreme reactions to the horrible, massive, revolting spiders lurking on everything I went near. If you heard any screams of terror in your neighbourhood, wherever that might be, as you undoubtedly will have, it was me.
And I make no apology for that!

Hi - I was wondering where you had got to - hope you're feeling a bit better now. I love shed clearing days - despite the spiders - It is great to see a big jumble of stuff come out and neatly put back in

I didn't hear the screams myself, but the dog did sit up at one point, ears up and with a confused look on his face!

A tidy shed just isn't a proper shed. It needs to be untidy; it's the only way we FIND things!

Only in this case, Elaine, a lot of stuff made its way to the tip. ;)

Ah, dogs never miss a trick, SP!

I shall tell Keith I am not the only person in the world to react in that way to spiders, WendyCarole. I think he is convinced that I am!

You really mustn't shout or scream when there are spiders about as they are very sensitive creatures persistently trying to live in peace and harmony with mankind (and womankind too!)

No sorry, YP they are evil, ugly horrible creatures!

You should have known better than to venture into there! xx

Bet you haven't got massive spiders in your shed, Flighty! On second thoughts, you probably have. ;)

There's not enough room in my 'sentry box' shed for really big ones! Flighty xx

Just as well... ;)

You'll have to post the shed and the red computer.

Squirrels have a habit of doing squirrelly things, like nibbling at weatherproofing. I wonder if there is a glue they don't like. Hmm. that brings a bizarre picture to mind; a line of squirrels test tasting glues. The sniff might prove too much.

Nope didn't hear any screams, not even adopted Celtic ones.

I swear the captcha is getting worse. Here I go, attempting it again.

Plaster board and dust

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
