Football

Anyone who knows me will also know that I give less than a toss about football but I was pleased to see this although I can't for the life of me understand why any teams would  even be thinking of going to Ukraine after experiences like this and that of the Dutch team during practice sessions. Interestingly, the whole problem seems to being downplayed by UEFA, whose 'zero tolerance policy' regarding racist behaviour  no doubt takes second place to financial considerations.
That said, I am  of course, considerably less than impressed at the prospect of boring football filling the airwaves for the next three weeks.
Anyone got a spare desert island?

They (not me) call it The Beautiful Game. In fact it's a very ugly game, with a lot of very ugly supporters. No doubt some racist 'Casual' hooligan will try to tell you differently.

I totally agree, Cro.

Only two weeks to Wimbledon and that is a beautiful game. Let's hope that the weather improves!

Wimbledon is the one thing I quite like watching, CW. :)

What did you think about the sending off of Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the Poland v Greece match? Surely an absolute travesty. I thought Russia looked strong in their game with the Czech Republic. What did you think about Andrei Arshavin's contribution? I'd also like to know how you think England's defence should line up against France. Would you personally play Leighton Baines?

I have heard that YP has a desert island going spare. And I might join you - as long as they can get the football on the telly!

If there's going to be football on the telly, SP, I think I'll pass, thank you! Somewhere where they have no knowledge of football, Olympics or F1 is what I am looking for.

Jenny - Sparrots's right. Blogland still awaits a great influx of immigrants and don't worry - while we lads are watching the footie and F1 on the telly you can make the sandwiches and bring us cans of beer. As we're "new" men we'll even say thank you and refrain from slapping your buttocks.

You paint such an irresistible picture, YP! Not!! :)

Meant to reply earlier but, well, was watching the footy, cricket, F1, golf, rugby, tennis, sheep dipping (on S4C), cow tipping, synchronised tiddlywinks, supermarket trolley dash, belly button defluffing and tag team knitting.

Glad you've been keeping busy, Ian. ;)

Plaster board and dust

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
