Goodwill?

I did the shopping in Asda today. I have defected to Asda from Sainsbury's because they offer to pack your bags, which Sainsbury's now do not, and they are certainly a bit cheaper. On the way out, I stopped at their petrol station to fill up but as I was pulling out, an idiot woman in a four by four came charging round the bend as if she were taking part in Formula 1. We both stopped and she very ungraciously allowed me through, and, as we were in adjacent lanes at the roundabout, started shouting and bawling at me through her open window. Unfortunately for her, my window was not open so I was unable to benefit from her undoubted words of wisdom, but the thought occurred to me that this is only the beginning. For the next several weeks, tempers will get shorter, patience will disappear and people all over the country will growl and snarl at each other as they put themselves under increasing degrees of stress on the run-up to Christmas.
You remember Christmas, season of good will to all?
Where's the nearest desert island?

It is half term. I am hoping that the supermarket will be calmer next week. Tesco was chaos this morning and it wasn't helped by a check out lad who could neither count or tell the difference between a satsuma and an orange! Luckily I didn't need petrol.

I have been at a checkout before now and asked to identify a cauliflower. The checkout girl didn't know what it was!

Oh yes, the festive season! Glad you had your window shut, she sounded just peachy! I find lots of women are emulating very aggressive behaviour of poor male drivers these days, especially the 4x4 humvee type drivers. Seems the car gives them much more confidence to be obnoxious - that is until someone gets out and punches them in the nose for their cheek!

I think you are right, MOB. They seem to think a large 4x4 gives them extra rights over us mere mortal motorists.

That's another reminder why I particularly don't like the weeks in the run up to Christmas! xx

A desert island would be the answer, Flighty!

Plaster board and dust

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
