Chancellor

So Alistair Darling is to retain his position as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Isn't that a bit like putting one of the prisoners in charge of the jail?

Yes, it makes you want a general election, all right - - it's just that there don't seem to be any obvious Good Guys to vote for any more!

I say we throw the lot of them out and elect MPs from a random selection of sixth form students.

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
