"Well, there is only one piece of advice I can give you," said the wisest of wise men. "The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon."

A youthful addition

Dad was showing me the booklet containing information about activities for 'senior citizens' in his area.
"Well, there are two dance classes," I said, "and a keep-fit class."
"Yes, but it's all pensioners," he complained. (This is the 86 year old man who still sees himself as an 18 year old.)
"Well, maybe you should join then," I said, "and inject some youth into the group."

Haha! Good suggestion of yours!

An old lady I know died recently, hit by a car as she crossed the road on her way home from visiting a friend. She was 97, and used to run a club for 'the old folks'. She clearly didn't see herself as one of them.

I saw more power to the elbow of these oldies who refuse to grow up!

Too true, Jay. Let's hope we share that 'can do' outlook when we're that age!

I would join him if I lived nearby! My mum is young at heart like this too.

I'm sorry to hear about Jay's 97-year-old friend's tragic end. How sad.

Have a lovely Easter Jennyta. I hope the counselling is going well.

Good on him. Who wants to be old anyway.

Quite right, Rosie!
