And the good news is...

I have a job for next term! Y2 class until Christmas. The only problem is I shall have 30 children! A bit different to the class of 8 that I've had this year.
This morning, still full of the joys of Spring ( or of being employably desirable), I went out to my little Peugeot to find that, in a bid to make the most of the couple of hours sun that we had yesterday, I had left the sunroof open all night...in all the rain.
This meant that I was greeted by a very soggy carpet behind the driver's seat and a very damp driver's seat. I put a plastic bag over it so that I could sit on it but unfortunately, this was not entirely successful.
Handy tip:
Doing the shopping with a damp posterior is not to be recommended!

Hope you weren't wearing something that showed the damp area...tres embarassing! Great news about the job - well done!

Thanks, Sue. I was wearing dark jeans, so not too bad. :)

Is there a difference between being "employably desirable" and desirably employable? Lets face it, Jenny. You're simply desirable!

Congrats on the new job. Sounds like a bit of a challenge with 30 children.

Pleased to hear you have somewhere to go in September. Not nice having a soggy bottom though.

Thanks, Rosie. Dale, you do my self esteem a power of good! ;)

If I had been a security guard in that shop I would have tapped you on the shoulder and quietly told you to leave for reasons of hygiene and if you had told me the convoluted story of the open sun roof I would have said. "Give over dear! You have weed yourself as women of a certain age are prone to do, now bugger off to Lidl!"
Good news on the job front. Planning ahead is vital. But you will be tired so Keith will always make dinner for you and then massage your aching tootsies!

Gemmak, you're probably right but I need the money!
YP you have really overstepped that mark this time. You're in detention and don't even think about bringing a letter from your mother to excuse you! So there!!

That's good news!
Have a good weekend.

Hi Jenny and everyone!

I'm quite new to this web stuff (so please be gentle). Just came across your site through google and enjoying reading the posts and comments. Good luck with your new class, quite a big jump up from 8!

Need some help though with a little problem. My oldest son, 26, was injured while working at a warehouse. Basically he tripped on some wire on the floor and broke his ankle. He's been off work for the last 2 weeks and doctor said he could be off for upto another 8-10 weeks.

I've been searching on Google (is that the best place?) to find one of these injury companies to help him get compensation but can't seem to find anything. Can anyone tell me what to type in Google?

By the way, is it easy to start a blog like this one Jenny?

Thanks again for your help.

Apology from "Mature Blogger" now posted in Mr Pudding's blog.

Hi, Rebecca, nice of you to drop by. I'm afraid I can't really help with your query as I have never had dealings with injury compensation companies myself but there are often adverts on TV for the better known ones. Starting a blog is easy - go to Blogger.com and follow the steps there. Good luck.

YP, you are now forgiven!

Plaster board and dust

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
