All in the genes

I am conscious that I have been conspicuous by my absence lately. Blame it on the pressure of work - teaching, studying, counselling placement, assignments etc. However, I heard some great news today from Elder Daughter (Yes, the one who sometimes leaves somewhat acerbic comments on my blogs and thinks I have an infantile sense of humour!)
She phoned to tell me she has passed the latest in a long line of exams and can now call herself MRCP (Member of the Royal College of Physicians) and so is eligible to apply for registrar jobs. Mind you, that's when the government have sorted themselves out and stopped causing the chaos in the system which has meant thousands of qualified doctors with no jobs to go to.
Still, that does not detract from her achievement and I am very proud of her.
Keith is pretty impressed too, even though, he says, she hasn't managed to find an instant cure for his ankle.
Me? I think it's all in the genes. If she hadn't had such a brilliant mother......

Now let me see - there was Jean Shrimpton, Jean Alexander of Hilda Ogden fame, then there were Wrangler jeans and Levis. You're right! It is all in the jeans!

Hi Jenny. Welcome back! Congrats to that daughter of yours. She must be a clever girl indeed. Is she as pretty as her mum, do you think?

So, we're still no further forward on the British Gas smart meter front and I've given up making non-existent appointments with them...
