Noise pollution

I've been tired today. There are a few reasons for this:

Today I had to go to Chester because, having got my new job for next term, I had to apply for yet another CRB clearance. However, these days, not content with scrutinising your personal documents, you also have to go to wherever they are and stand before them so that they can look at the photo on your driving licence or passport and then look at you and decide that the two do, in fact, match up. Surprisingly, they didn't want to know the colour of my underwear! Is anyone else getting fed up with being treated like a potential criminal?

After that, I had to go across Chester for my first visit to a supervisor for my counselling.

The GPS had given up the ghost so, in the absence of any other directions, even from the lady herself, I got hopelessly lost and had to cancel the meeting.

But the main reason is that at 2.30a.m. and again at 5.30, some prat decided to play with his motorbike, minus silencer, in the field at the back of the house. The noise was such that it took some minutes before my heart resumed its normal beat.

If I knew he was going to be back again tonight, I would put a few concrete posts and tree trunks in his path. That'd sort him!

Yes, Jenny, I'm fed up with being treated like a potential criminal. Or like that ubiquitous term I've grown weary of .. a TERRORIST. Terror. God, don't the media just adore that word?!

You sound disappointed. You can share here, with us, if it will help.

Too right, Dale.
Billy, the only thing I am disappointed about is the way we are gradually being strangled by red tape caused by massive over-reactions to real or imagined threats. As you can see, I am still annoyed! ;)

Jennta you're a teacher these things shouldn't still be annoying you. You ought to be used to red tape and ridiculous interference by those who know best.
My solution was to down grade my lifestyle to two day working and minimal contact with the idiots.
Is counselling your way of turning your back on it?

Yes, indeed, Billy but I have another 12 months training to do and need some money, hence the supply teaching and contract for the next 4 months - and, actually, I missed teaching when I took a year out from it - but teaching as it should and could be, not all the red tape and rubbishy targets.
